Shelagh Ryan, Michael Homan and Caitlin Ryan, opened the first Lantana Cafe in 2008 to introduce to London everything they loved and missed about the thriving Australian cafe culture. Three cafes, five children, a cookbook and growing range of Lantana products later, they are committed to their original vision – to make Lantana a part of your life’s rituals and another reason to fall in love with London, like they have.
The name Lantana
The name comes from a beautiful flowering plant that was transported from South America to Australia by immigrants where, because of its hardy, tenacious nature, it took hold, becoming an iconic Australian plant. A weed of national significance and an apt metaphor for the cafe as it too has thrived on foreign soil.
Close to Old Street roundabout, Lantana Shoreditch has a modern, urban feel but still with our trademarks; casual and comfortable. Our IN and OUT offerings are under the same roof here. We’re open all day, seven days a week, for breakfast, brunch, and lunch.
This is a bustling little cafe tucked down a laneway off Goodge Street in Fitzrovia, central London. The IN cafe is open all day for breakfast, brunch and lunch seven days a week. OUT brings cafe quality offerings, the best take out coffees and is open Monday to Friday.
Smack in the middle of Camden Lock market is our charming little coffee shop offering a lovely simple brunchy menu as well as our homemade cakes and, of course, our excellent coffees and drinks. It’s a haven after the madness of the market.
